Macbeth Cardiff Open Air Theatre Festival

Macbeth. The word alone strikes fear into the heart of any actor. However, despite the superstition surrounding Macbeth's shortest tragedy, Simon H West's fearless production as part of the Cardiff Open Air Theatre Festival was a visual masterpiece from curtain up to curtain fall. From the wonderfully choreographed fight scenes, to the stomach churning blood appearing throughout, it was as though the bard had lent his work to a Quentin Tarantino film.
Set in the mob run 90s, the soundtrack .. was as though it were written for the piece. Starting with the ominous "Things Can Only Get Better" and finding one of its many climaxes with Prodigy's "Fire Starter", this production undeniably showed the power of music. Finding inspiration in classic horror films, it is a must see for all those willing to allow the hairs on their neck to stand on end.
Based on a disturbingly raw set that makes the audience feel they've stumbled into an abandoned slaughterhouse, this choice becomes very apt as the story progresses. Everyman's production brings new life to a well known story, and makes it feel more relevant than ever. With an extremely strong cast who make Shakespeare's words sound like second nature, this show will not disappoint. This is Shakespeare for the masses.
"Something wicked this way comes", yes.. it most certainly does.

Frightfully Fabulous Family Time! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Cooler than the Kardashians, more twisted than the Trumps, The Addams Family have descended upon Cardiff Bay for twelve nights of music and mischief on their UK tour of the Hit musical. Many Man Written & Performed by Tobias Weatherburn ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Tobias Weatherburn triumphs in Spilt Milks production of Many Man, taking us on a rollercoaster of emotions as he explores the multiple personalities of a man searching for happiness by creating a new persona each time life fails him. Many Man is a journey of a man searching for the better version of himself and ultimately wanting just to be the man he was born to be. From the start we thought this one man show would be something of a comedy stand up. There was much laughter as Weatherburn described his characters life and got all philosophical on life in general and each time the character transforms himself into a completely different persona it's done so cleverly and with lots of humour.
